NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) was developed to accelerate human change. Typically training includes route mastering of an seemingly endless array of techniques. While students of the field may be awed by the results and how quickly that can change human behavior, rarely do they understand why they work. Thus, they have very little capability when it comes to modifying the techniques to fit their situations. This book provides the solution to that dilemma.

One of the first skills that NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) students are taught is how to immediately establish rapport - and how to break rapport when needed. This book presents several techniques that can be used to gain a high-level rapport that can then be used to influence, sale, and gain better empathy. Although I respect the fact that starting at an early age does give a person a jump start, achieving mastery - or at least a substantially enhanced level of performance - can happen at any age. As a clinical hypnotherapist and NLP trainer, obviously my emphasis will be on the use of suggestion and imagination as tools to accelerate the achievement of mastery. The more you focus on a skill, the thicker and more developed the neural substrate related to the skill will become.

As discussed in the first book of this series, Erickson used a naturalistic approach that helped the patient (or client) find his or her own answers within their subconscious minds. He elegantly used stories and metaphors as a tool to do this. This concise book conveniently introduces you to this concept and leads you toward mastery of the application so that you can immediately use his techniques in your practice. Milton H. Erickson, M.D. was an American psychiatrist who pioneered several indirect or permissive hypnosis techniques.
