Religion For Teens

Why would I see the need to write about a horrible “bizarre bullying” experience that I had as a teen in the 1970s, rather than relate all of the glory days I experienced? I think we sometimes forget about how hard it can be for a teen to survive the challenges of growing into adulthood. I believe by sharing one of my own negative life experiences, I can help to demonstrate how serious bullying can be in the lives of teenagers, who are trying to grow up in a tough and sometimes cruel world.

Perhaps nothing strikes greater fear in a parent than the word "Teen". The teenage years can be trying both for parent and child. But this stage of life can also be a beautiful time of discovery and bonding. What a blessing and a privilege to be a part of transitioning your child into the adult God created them to be! This resource will help you find the wisdom, patience and peace to enjoy the teen years.

Having "the talk" can sometimes be an awkward experience for both parent and child. I didn't want to wait until my children's hormones kicked in, and I didn't want to be caught off guard when they had questions, but most of all, I didn't want them growing up with misconceptions concerning sex. I told them what I have written in Your Special Gift, by using the analogy of a gift, a lock, and a key to define commonly used sexual terms, and to caution them about possible consequences.

Islam has been painted black these days because of terrorism. This book is going to erase those prejudices and replace them with facts. It is important that you encourage your child to respect the different religions, even if they come with beliefs different from he/she is used to.
