In the Shadows of Promise is an anthology of poetry based on my dreams. I have made love in my dreams, explored new lands, spoken foreign languages, and even experienced life through the eyes of other beings. I have been killed in battle, though I have no real life military experience. It is as if in some dreams I merge into the dreams or lives of others. Some incredibly happy, some terribly sad, some horrific. Some dreams leave me with a sense of purity and innocence.

To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die. In recent years non-religious funerals have become more common, but without an established canon of texts to fall back on, it can be difficult to plan an appropriate service for a loved one who had no religious belief or connections. Pencil of Light can be found in the book of Poems titled: Many Un/Splendid Things. The theme is about coming out of deep depression.

As usual they express the trials and tribulations, the glory and the pain, the grandiosity and obsession, the paranoid deluded thinking that come with having a paranoid schizophrenic disability. There is so much intensity and passion exhibited in this work of art. The author will take you to places you have never been in mind and spirit. You will feel empathy and compassion probably some sympathy. But these poems are not meant to make its listeners feel sorry for the author.

Obsession Depression and Madness goes deep into the psychosis of a man who lives with schizophrenia. It deals with the obsessive thinking that results from having delusions of persecution. It is very intense to say the least. It will take your mind to places you could only imagine. It will definitely make you feel for the author. These are poems from the vault of Timothy Paul Brown along with some recent poems. They were excluded from his other books for fear of judgement. He no longer is afraid to reveal these innermost thoughts, ideas, emotions and experiences to the world.

This is a poem that does not rhyme, because life-changing moments do not rhyme, or fit perfectly in order. Each line of the 22-line poem, conveys a multitude of lived experiences, and is stacked like the title for emphasis. To sit with the title (without even opening the book), and the question it prompts, would be more than enough - to jump start a shift in perception about the pathways of life, where we intersect at heart and meet for a virtual cup of tea.
