"Le 2e livre des Rois" est un livre de l'Ancien Testament classé parmi "Les livres des Prophètes" dans la tradition juive et dans les livres historiques dans le christianisme. Il suit "Le 1er livre des Rois", avec lequel il constituait, à l'origine un seul livre. Depuis le règne d'Ochozias, roi d'Israël, jusqu'à la chute du royaume de Juda, il présente avec plus ou moins de détails chacun des rois d'Israël et de Juda, deux royaumes condamnés par la justice divine après leur rejet des commandements divins.

David unifie les tribus d'Israël et choisit Jérusalem pour y déposer l'Arche d'alliance. L'épisode de David et Bethsabée figure au chapitre 11. Dans certaines bibles et traditions, "Les livres de Samuel" sont regroupés en un seul. Dans d'autres, ils constituent deux livres séparés, généralement désignés sous la forme I Samuel et II Samuel.

"Le Cantique des Cantiques" est un livre de la Bible. "Le Cantique des Cantiques" revêt la forme d'une suite de poèmes, de chants d'amour alternés entre une femme et un homme (ou même où plusieurs couples s'expriment), qui prennent à témoin d'autres personnes et des éléments de la nature. C'est l'un des livres de la Bible les plus poétiques.

"Le livre de Tobie" est un livre deutérocanonique de l'Ancien Testament. Il raconte l'histoire d'un Israélite de la tribu de Nephthali nommé Tobie. Déporté à Ninive, il devient aveugle après avoir reçu de la fiente d'oiseau dans les yeux et envoie son fils Tobie recouvrer une dette en Médie auprès de leur parent Gabaël. L'ange Raphaël conduit Tobie à Ecbatane où il pêche un poisson dont il extrait le cœur, le foie et le fiel.
