It is July 10, 1863, and Baltimore is in the hands of the Army of Northern Virginia under the command of Robert E. Lee. Shattered remnants of the Army of the Potomac have fallen back into Washington, digging in, preparing to make a desperate stand. Six days earlier, General Ulysses S. Grant and his army of 60,000 had taken Vicksburg. The last telegram out of Washington before the rebels cut the line changed all that.

The being known as Alpha distributes fear and hate, his only ambition to destroy all that’s good in the universe. And now he has support from another like him. While Eloah delivers the truth of our evolution in a fantastic display of technological power, the evil beings plan their attack on Eloah and his followers. The pope delivers a message to millions of expectant followers, one that will shock the world and change the course and charter of the Catholic Church, and likely all religions.

Something very strange is going on in Bowling Green, Kentucky. A masked terrorist attacks a local politician and a news reporter at a minor league baseball game. A Gay Pride parade is bombed. A veteran's home is invaded and taken over by new ownership, and every resident that is not Caucasian has suddenly...disappeared.
