Short Storytelling

A young army recruit, recently graduated from the Martial Academy, returns home on leave to find his village attacked by brigands and his girl kidnapped. Confident in his swordsmanship and the fact that his is the side of virtue, he sets out on his own to rescue her. This is the tale of his rescue attempt. Will he succeed, or will he fall, leaving his girl to the ravages of of the brigands?

Larian Elesir, a young recruit in the Citizens' Army, arrives at his first post. Eager to join the war effort, he is nonetheless nervous in his new environment and worried about setting a foot wrong. During his first day in camp, his new companions put him through his paces as they both learn who he is and teach him the basics he'll need to survive in his job in the army.

When Matthew retreated to an isolated mountain village in Spain, he was looking forward to peace and quiet. A friendly old man, a pushy old woman, and an invasive swarm of hornets had other ideas. A humorous, lighthearted series of five very short stories.

A great hero can come from a humble past. Great love can bloom from the embers of conflict. And sometimes the two can happen at the same time, to the near ruin of both.
