Men's masculine behaviors and traits have been suppressed by popular culture combined with “egalitarian blank slate” ideals that have been integrated within institutional systems and supported by national and local governments for the last 50-70 years. Where are the benefits this egalitarian utopia promised? Why has it become so popular to shame, guilt, and insult masculinity and masculine behaviors?
