Max Weber hat in diesem Vortrag eine komprimierte Fassung seines umfassenden Werkes geschaffen. Themen sind Wirtschaft, Recht, Religion, Gesellschaft, Staat und Herrschaft und eine Fülle historischer Fakten. Dies alles bekommt seine Erwähnung als Bedingung für den Willen zum Beruf als Politiker. Es ist dies fast ein Handbuch Politik. Jeder an Politik Interessierte sollte dies kennen.

Die Welt ist im Wandel. Ereignisse wie die Corona-Pandemie, nur ein Aspekt einer größeren ökologischen Krise, führen uns die Verletzlichkeit des Menschen vor Augen und machen Angst. Sie lassen uns aber auch Zusammenhalt spüren, die tief verankerte Sozialität des Menschen. Wir nennen dieses Gefühl Empathie. Sie ist der Kern unseres Wesens und einer Kultur der Gemeinschaft.

In "La società della performance", Maura Gancitano e Andrea Colamedici proseguono la linea tracciata da Guy Debord con "La società dello spettacolo" e da Byung-Chul Han con "Psicopolitica", rivelando come la condizione dell'uomo contemporaneo sia strutturata per sostituire al mondo l'imitazione del mondo, all'espressione di sé l'esibizione di sé, alla narrazione lo storytelling, alla ricerca del senso della vita la ricerca di un livello sempre maggiore di benessere e visibilità.

After receiving a doctorate in medicine, Le Bon travelled in Europe, North Africa, and Asia and wrote several books on anthropology and archaeology. His interests later shifted to natural science and social psychology. Gustave Le Bon is best known for his seminal work Crowd Psychology where he describes the psychological effects in various group settings. In Psychology of Peoples written in 1894 he utilizes his anthropological knowledge and cross-references it with social psychology.

Georg Simmel (1858 - 1918), war Philosoph und Soziologe. Sein Essay über die "Psychologie des Geldes" war bahnbrechend - weil wissenschaftlich und zugleich allgemeinverständlich! Ein faszinierendes, zeitloses Werk.

Der Spiegel, den Meinhard Miegel hier der deutschen Gesellschaft vorhält, ist kein schmeichelnder. Schonungslos nimmt sich Deutschlands unbequemster Soziologe hier den Mythos vom fleißigen und strebsamen Deutschen vor und entlarvt ihn als Selbslüge. Mit einem analytischen Blick auf die Bereiche Demografie, Sozialstaat, Wirtschaft und Beschäftigung benennt Miegel die größten Probleme Deutschlands, von Überalterung bis Innovationsmangel. Viele der Probleme seien schon seit langem bekannt, doch würden die meisten lieber ihre Augen davor verschließen.

Gegory Bateson berichtete einmal von einer Patientin mit leichter Schizophrenie, die dem Arzt wiederholt versicherte, sie könne nicht "Nein" sagen. Nach einer Therapiestunde erteilte er ihr den Auftrag, täglich mindestens einmal eine Anforderung an sie mit "Nein" abzuschlagen. Ihre spontane Antwort lautete: "Nein, das kann ich nicht!" Die Kunst des negativen Denkens besteht zumeist darin, Abstand zu gewinnen zu den Unmöglichkeitsforderungen, die unsere Gesellschaft beständig an uns heranträgt.

El francés Gustave Le Bon (1841-1931) es considerado uno de los fundadores de la psicología social. Introdujo un tema importante como la psicología del comportamiento colectivo. Le Bon desarrolló sus ideas y puntos de vista durante numerosos viajes a diferentes pueblos de África y Asia. En su obra principal "Psicología de las masas" de 1895, describe el cambio en el comportamiento del individuo que resulta de pertenecer a un grupo más grande de personas, una masa. Este audiolibro está basado en la traducción al español de 1921 de J. M. Navarro de Palencia.

Es un libro escrito en 1927 por Sigmund Freud. En él describe su interpretación sobre los orígenes, desarrollo y psicoanálisis de la religión así como su futuro. Freud veía la religión como un falso sistema de creencias.

La inquietante tendencia de la sociedad moderna a convertir a las personas, no sólo en sujetos sino especialmente en objetos de consumo, está en el centro de este trabajo del consagrado sociólogo Zygmunt Bauman, autor entre otros éxitos de Modernidad líquida. En los capítulos aquí resumidos, se analizan las causas y las consecuencias de aquel fenómeno, que parece permear cada uno de los poros de la sociedad capitalista contemporánea a escala global.

William I. Thomas was an innovative sociologist who wrote during the first half of the 20th century. Sex and Society is a collection of essays that explore the biological difference between the sexes, as well as the psychology and sociological aspects of sexuality. Thomas offered a progressive perspective on gender and sexuality, pushing the boundaries of scientific exploration with regard to human affairs.
