Spiritual Identity

Many people will agree that we are living in a world in which many people seem to be experiencing an identity crisis. To complicate the matter, this identity crisis has found its way into the Lord’s Church. The question must be asked, “What does it mean to be and live as a Christian?” At the center of our Christian experience, we discover that our union with the crucified and risen Jesus shapes our identity and our spiritual formation.

God’s word stored in our memory and hearts will change and shape our lives. This inspired heart craves glory to God expressions within all facets of life–each activity, our thoughts, giftings, our work, and relationships.

Who is a Christian? We are who God says we are. In the Bible, verses that use prepositional phrases like in Christ, in him, through him, by him, and others often contain statements about our true identity.
