前半はツリークライミングに関する基本的な技術(ローピングやクライミングなど)や道具(木との摩擦を避けるハウススリーブなど)を紹介します。ツリークライミング体験の素晴らしさを語りつつ木や森に対する尊敬の念、自然と一体化する意識の大切さを説いていきます。後半はジョン・ギャスライト氏がツリークライミングを本格的に始めるきっかけとなった「彦坂さん」との出会い、そこから樹や森が本来もっている力を探究する「フォレストサイエンス」へと発展していった過程など、ツリークライミングが秘めている無限の可能性についても紹介していきます。(C)ジョン・ギャスライト/西橋裕三
