Superhero City

Elijah Branton, part-time professor, part-time monster, is struggling to get a grip on his powers while integrating more fully to life in Pittsburgh. But a mysterious death brings last year's tragedy into the spotlight, forcing Elijah to question how much control he really has. Meanwhile, Willa Weil is on a one-woman revenge mission in pursuit of demons from her family's history. She must uncover the truth about her past in order to save the future, but can she save it from herself?

It's a story as old as time. Boy likes girl. Girl will only date...a superhero. And unfortunately for Dave Murphy, Grand City is chock full of superheroes. In fact, in Grand City ANYONE can be a superhero, which gives Dave an idea. The plan was simple: Pretend to be a hero and save the girl from a fake mugging. Live happily ever after. The plan was foolproof, nothing could possibly go wrong, even with Dave choosing his temporary superhero name from an empty, discarded soda can. The one named after a retired superhero...who finds out someone is impersonating him...soiling his good name.

Mark Salzmann would like to be known as the Pirouette Punisher, the swift foot of justice! But to the citizens of Grand City, he's known simply as that ballet-dancing streetfighter, Fluffy Feet. Or is it Twinkle Toes? When his girlfriend, Liv, discovers his secret, Mark loses everything. His girl, his job, his dignity...everything. Determined not to give up, Mark sets forth to win back his girl, defeat a new nemesis, and show Grand City what he is made of.

You may think being a superhero is all about dodging bullets, fancy armor, secret identities, and thwarting supervillains - but not in Spire City. Here, you have to deal with crazy shamanic visions, and Nazi butchers brought to USA after World War II. Need we mention the malevolent thought forms and gangs of freakish mutants? Modern city life is tough enough, but in Spire City even the superheroes are stretched to the breaking point when the villains have better lawyers.
