Supernatural Police

Forty years ago, triplets Miriam, Louise, and Edward were swept up in a case of rural mass hysteria. Coerced into fabricating unspeakable lies about their first-grade teacher and her adult son, they were complicit in destroying two lives. Ever since, they have believed they are being followed by a presence still seeking retribution for their childhood sins. Unless their guilty consciences are conjuring as many monsters as their innocent minds once did.

The National Council of the Arts sponsored a competition. Composers from all over the world entered their compositions of an original operetta. The composer expected to win, Mancini, was murdered. The Mancini case has baffled the homicide division of the Kansas City police department for the past year. Detective Mark Johnson gets an anonymous tip and is hopeful that he can finally solve it.

The twins are on the hunt for ghosts again, and trouble follows. Tripping into an open grave, they discover a dead man covered in fresh blood. They race to find Hawk Theriot, the only federal ranger in the vast Atchafalaya Basin. Hawk tracks the murderer through clues left at the scene. Meanwhile, the murderer breaks into Hawk's camp in search of the twins, putting Kristi's life in jeopardy.
