This audiobook focuses on 20 of the most chilling crimes in California history. True crime junkies may recognize some of the highly publicized cases but I’ve made sure to include lesser-known, equally unsettling crimes.

Dangerous and disregarding people don't simply drop out of the sky. Nor are they born bloodthirsty and cruel. Britain's most prolific known serial killer wasn't a ripper or strangler. He was a licensed physician, bound in theory by the good medical practice guidelines of the General Medical Council established in 1858, making care of patients his "first concern" while "being open, honest, and acting with integrity". The "healer" nicknamed Doctor Death achieved none of those goals.
