In the early 19th century, a series of murders took place in and around London that shocked the whole of England. In 1880, Leonidas S. LaPrade disappeared from his rural Robertson County, Tennessee, home near Adams. The search lasted for several days, and when the body was found concealed in a sinkhole, it was obvious he had been hideously tortured and murdered.
