The urban educational landscape, with its unique challenges and dynamics, often amplifies the struggles faced by students. Within these walls, Black students, shaped by a myriad of socio-economic, cultural, and personal factors, navigate their educational journey.

There are three types of communities in the USA - the urban, suburban, and the rural. This book will provide definitions and examples of each type of community. It will also discuss, although in summary, what the American culture is all about, and what differences can be seen in each type of community. In which of these communities do you belong?

The women and men who lived in these districts did not passively internalize the shaming of their bodies or neighborhoods.
