مسح أمير بيده على الصورة المعلّقة على حائط غرفته وهي صورة كبيرة للأقزام السبعة، وقال:

تصبحون على خير يا أصدقائي، وقبّل كلَّ واحدٍ منهم قبلته التي اعتاد عليها كلَّ مساء، فرأى الأقزام يبتسمون له ليردوا عليه التحية ثمَّ ذهب إلى الفراش وضمَّ لعبته المحبوبة مغمضًأ عينيه وراح في سباتٍ عميق..

رأى أمير الأقزام يلتفون حوله، يحملونه من فوق الفراش إلى أعلى ثمَّ يخترقون به النافذة التي أغلقها بنفسه، فسألهم:

ما هذا؟ ما الذي يحدث؟ فلم يجبه أحد..

ألا تتكلمون؟ هل أنتم أقزامٌ حقيقيون أم خيال؟

ولم يجبه أحدٌ أيضًا..

ارتفع الاقزام بأمير إلى أعلى وأعلى وحلقوا به في الفضاء..اقتربوا من القمر فتعجّب أمير.."ياه أهذا هو القمر الذي أراه من نافذتي كلَّ مساء!!
