　ある所にアア、サア、リイという三人の兄弟がありました。ある時、お父さんが、「今日は三人に一つずつオモチャを買ってやるから、何でもいいものを云ってみろ」と云われました。アアは何でも狙えばきっとあたる鉄砲、サアは何でも切れる刀、リイはどこでも見える遠眼鏡を欲しがりましたが、どれもむずかしくてだめでした。そのうえアアとサアは、危ないものを欲しがるものじゃない、と叱られてしまいました。

　アアとサアは大変にくやしがって、その晩、兄弟三人が揃ってへやに寝ますと、リイを窓から外へひきずり出して、そのまま窓をしめて寝てしまいました。

　リイは涙をポロポロこぼしながらお月様を見ておりますと、不意にうしろの方からシャガレた声で、「リイやリイや」と云う声がしました。ビックリしてふり向きますと、そこには顔色の青い、眼の玉の赤い、白髪のお婆さんが立っておりました。お婆さんはニコニコ笑いながら、外套の下から小さな黒い棒を出してリイに渡しました。そうしてリイの耳にシャガレた低い声でこういいました。

「この眼がね、眼にあてて　息つめて、アムと云え　すきなとこ、見られるぞ。　このめがね、眼に当てて　すきなとこ、のぞいたら　息つめて、マムと云え　どこへでも、ゆかれるぞ」

リイはためしに黒い棒を片っ方の眼に当てて、向うの山の上のお月様をのぞいて、教わった通り、「アム」と云って見ました。リイはあんまり不思議なのに驚いて、棒を取り落そうとした位でした。お月様の世界がリイの眼の前に見えたのです。

夢野久作

日本の小説家、SF作家、探偵小説家、幻想文学作家。1889年（明治22年）1月4日-1936年（昭和11年）3月11日。他の筆名に海若藍平、香倶土三鳥など。現在では、夢久、夢Qなどと呼ばれることもある。福岡県福岡市出身。日本探偵小説三大奇書の一つに数えられる畢生の奇書『ドグラ・マグラ』をはじめ、怪奇色と幻想性の色濃い作風で名高い。またホラー的な作品もある。
