「安い部屋」(31分)
城谷が初めて一人暮らしをした札幌にある5階建てのアパート。極端に古かったわけではないし、ユニットバス、水洗トイレ付きの二間だったが、保証人、敷金、礼金なしで 管理費込みで25000円の家賃は安すぎる部屋だった。
さっそく契約して住み始めたのだが、アコーディオンカーテンで仕切られた奥の6畳の和室にはほとんど入ることがなかった。和室には真っ赤な絨毯が敷かれており、内覧の時に不動産屋に尋ねると前の住人が残していったものだからよければそのままお使いくださいとのことだった。
