北川光雄は叔父の命を受けて長崎の時計屋敷へ赴いた。
屋敷の三階から櫓のように建つ時計塔。
だがこの時計塔は人々から幽霊塔と呼ばれていた。
この屋敷を建てた大富豪がある日行方不明となり、地下深くから助けを求める男の声が響くがやがて消えたという。
数年前には屋敷の一室で老婆が惨殺されている。
そんな屋敷へ足を踏み入れた光雄は、この世の者とは思えない謎めいた美女と出会う。
誰も知らない時計塔の動かし方を知っている女…名は野末秋子。
彼女の持つ怪しげな魅力に心惹かれる光雄。
同じ宿に泊まっていた秋子だが、次の日忽然と姿を消した。
秋子を探し再び時計塔を訪れた光雄は、隠し扉の中に謎の暗号と地下迷宮の地図を手に入れる。
