About this listen
Becoming a more effective learner and boosting your productivity will help you earn better grades - but it’ll also cut down on your study time. This is a short, meaty audiobook that will guide you through 10 steps to achieving those goals:
- Pay better attention in class
- Take more effective notes
- Get more out of your textbooks
- Plan like a general
- Build a better study environment
- Fight entropy and stay organized
- Defeat procrastination
- Study smarter
- Write better papers
- Make group projects suck less
Whether you’re in college or high school, this book will probably help you. But not if you’re a raccoon. I want to be very clear about that; if you’re a raccoon, please buy a different book. This one will do absolutely nothing for you. How did you even learn to read, anyway?

Some tips provided by themselves make this a 5
Great audio performance.
Some tips more useful than others. But the book is short enough, it is worth listening to the whole thing.
I am applying some of the ideas to teaching my daughter and how to learn things at work. This is highly recommended for already high performers.

Great concepts
Love Tom and his YouTube videos. This book is a great quick listen. As Someone who listens to a lot of non-fiction and science books I found He spent a lot of time making jokes and sunny side remarks. I assume this to keep younger readers more engaged, I myself found it just time consuming and wanted to get to the information more. But great listen

Great book!
I wish I would have read this in high school. I have to do a lot of continuing education in my career so it is useful for that too! I like that he is concise and has a lot of useful information in a not overly long easy to listen to book. I’ll recommend it to anyone I know going to school.

Fast & Effective
Helped identity what I am doing well, where I can improve, and methods/apps to try to improve my work flow.
The narrative/author was like having the kind of friend I want around me all the time; super helpful ideas presented with humour and easy to follow instructions to apply right away.

Great tips for any students
I loved the book. It helped me a lot working on my motivation. The content was good, the pacing was good and the narrator, Thomas Frank (the author) was entertaining. He had a good rhythm and good intonation. Even if English isn't't my first language, everything was clear and easy to grasp. There was great efforts put into this book to keep it short and simple.
Although it might be a matter of opinion, I wasn't a fan of the comical elements in the book, though they were nice little breaks in the midst of the reading.
Finally, I must say the Audio Book might not be the best support for this has many screenshots and visual content. The paper version of the this book is a nice addition simply for that. If you don't want another version of the book, most of the content can the found on Thomas Frank website : https://collegeinfogeek.com
Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone student or person wanting to work on his motivation or productivity. It's simply that great.

Great book for college students
I have been following Thomas Frank for many years and tbh my first motivation for buying his book was leftover audible credit. However, after fully listening to it I am so glad I did, it gives great basics study tips to become a better student, no matter if you are already a great student wanting polish your skills or if you are desperate for help.
The advice he gives is really down to earth and the resources and apps he suggests adjust very well to students’ needs.
His narrative is so full of personality and it kind of reminds me of his YouTube channel, (go and check it out if you are wondering if this book is worth it).

Informative and humorous
A great book for anyone looking to improve their time in school. If you're someone like me who has already seen tons of productivity advice and watched a lot of Tom's videos then a lot of it will be stuff you heard before but I was still able to glean some new things from the book nonetheless.
