Bit outdated and boring
100 Ways to Motivate Yourself by Steve Chandler
Is motivational.
This book was recommended to me by a friend who told me he listens to parts constantly. I can understand why. It’s very much like a cosmo 10 tips for a better life. More readings produce new actions and trials of the tips.
I’m not being flippant. It’s a very accessible book with tested tips and personal ways of how it is practiced by Chandler. Some of the tips can be contradictory, which allows for more pick and choose style of putting the tips into practice. For example, Chandler states use your commute time to listen to books and learn things, instead of radio talk or music. But then states and encourages people a few tips later to sing in the car if you want a strong and relaxed speaking voice- even more so before when you need to publicly speak.
My only doubt with this book is that it’s dated. Even if I read the 3rd edition. Case in point, his daughter needing a watch to be on time, with no mention of a phone. Chandler goes for a walk where he states he has nothing bothering him, because there is no music, no phones when walking- no one can reach him. Either he doesn’t have a mobile phone, or leaves it at home. The former is more likely given when it was first written, the latter is not safe for most people. However, the tips were interesting if not just slightly more geared for men. And much of it was very dry.
This book is for anyone interested in tips and tricks to better themselves, or even fine tune.
