Another thrilling ride
Patterson is once again on a roll. Our good old Sargent Lindsay Boxer has her hands full trying to solve a disappearance plus a spade of hoem fires started by arsons. The main plot is a bit over the top but hey you knew that going in. The disappearance subplot which includes a court room drama is quite suspenseful although the conclusion is a bit too contrived. Yet dispite its preposterous story at times, this is a page turner and I bet Patterson would take that as a complement. I finished it in just three days and disregarded E Lynn Harris's "Just as I am " to do so as that book was boring me to tears. The authors don't shy away from the nitty gritty especially scenes involving the autopsy table. The women are in fine form say for Cindy who really doesn't do much in this book. Final thoghts, it will grab you if you leave your logic at the door and just enjoy the ride. As for the narrator McCormick is adiquit at best. There is enough distinction between the voices of the four women to understand who is talking but her male voices made me cringe at times.
