Entertaining as heck
The characters are likable, story flows well and keeps you interested. I find there is a healthy amount of good comedy in this book, though I do wish the character Tersa would mature. that is all, definitely getting the next book

Ended too soon.
I literally cancelled plans for coffee with friends and skipped another planned activity so I could keep listening. If I didn't need sleep I may have listened all in one go. Great narration and conituation of the story began in book 1. I love character developement stories, and this certainly is that.

an interesting adventure and much world building
story follows along with not just Trent this time. it follows along and expounds and expands upon other members of the world. some people you will see in the reviews will complain about that. But how do you build a world when it's only from one perspective? The answer is you don't. so with this book we meet many new people and they all have some interesting aspects to them that I am more than positive will expound into the next book or more in the series.
The fighting is well described, Trent and his mental state are definitely well described and shown how it just hurts for him to be him. A boy brought into the world with no past and somebody who had no idea how to work a bond.
cannot wait to listen to book 3.
