About this listen
This inspiring romance by Christy Award winner Deeanne Gist sets a spirited gal and an enterprising lumberjack on a collision course in 1866 Washington Territory.
Set to lose half his timberland unless he finds a wife soon, widower Joe Denton places an order for a bride who can cook. When she arrives, the bonnie lass certainly cooks up a storm - but she knows nothing about marrying Joe.

Love a good historical romance
Easy listening, I’ll definitely be a searching out more titles by Deeanne Gist! I found the characters relatable even though the setting is so far from what I’m used to. I really admire Anna’s strength but also vulnerability. The descriptions of the muscling lumberjack were a bit too much for my taste, my daughter was rolling her eyes a few times when listening with me. I really enjoyed the author’s notes about the historicity of the characters. Overall a very entertaining story!

My nighttime story
I have reread this book at least 20 times. It is so good. I read it when I am bored. I read it when I am sad. I read it before I go to bed
