About this listen
"Narrator Lorelei King delivers a highly enjoyable listening experience." - AudioFile Magazine
A Hard Day for a Hangover is another humorous installment in Darynda Jones's wine mystery series deemed: "Laugh-out-loud funny, intensely suspenseful fun." —New York Times bestselling author Allison Brennan
"Narrator Lorelei King works well with the subtly snarky style of author Darynda Jones....Listeners will look forward to the next installment of this new series, as some mysteries are solved, and others remain." —AudioFile on A Bad Day for Sunshine
Some people greet the day with open arms. Sheriff Sunshine Vicram would rather give it a hearty shove and get back into bed, because there’s just too much going on right now. There’s a series of women going missing, and Sunny feels powerless to stop it. There’s her persistent and awesomely-rebellious daughter Auri, who’s out to singlehandedly become Del Sol’s youngest and fiercest investigator. And then there’s drama with Levi Ravinder—the guy she’s loved and lusted after for years. The guy who might just be her one and only. The guy who comes from a family of disingenuous vipers looking to oust him—and Sunshine—for good.
Like we said, the new day can take a hike.
The blockbuster conclusion to the bestselling Sunshine Vicram trilogy, A Hard Day for a Hangover will have listeners laughing and cheering to the very last word.
"Fans will be delighted." —Publishers Weekly

Charley sees dead people. That's right, she sees dead people. And it's her job to convince them to "go into the light." But when these very dead people have died under less than ideal circumstances (i.e., murder), sometimes they want Charley to bring the bad guys to justice. Complicating matters are the intensely hot dreams she's been having about an Entity who has been following her all her life...and it turns out he might not be dead after all. In fact, he might be something else entirely.

Story
Meet Stephanie Plum, a bounty hunter with attitude. In Stephanie’s opinion, toxic waste, rabid drivers, armed schizophrenics, and August heat, humidity, and hydrocarbons are all part of the great adventure of living in Jersey. She’s a product of the “burg,” a blue-collar pocket of Trenton where houses are attached and narrow, cars are American, windows are clean, and (God forbid you should be late) dinner is served at six.

Story
"Happily Ever After" wasn't supposed to come with a do-over option. But when my husband of 20 years packs up and heads for greener pastures, and my son heads away to college, that's exactly what my midlife becomes. A do-over. This time, though, I plan to do things differently. Age is just a number, after all, and at 40 I'm ready to carve my own path. Eager for a fresh start, I make a somewhat unorthodox decision and move to a tiny town in the Sierra foothills.

Very enjoyable
As usual, Darynda Jones' story kept my attention with adventure, ntroduced the right amount of side story, and made me laugh. I also love how she sneaks reference to Charlie Davidson in, too. I'd add an extra 2 stars if I could, that Lorelei King narrated - she is hands-down the best at it.

Wraps Up Various Plots
Listened to it twice through. Enjoyed it just as much both times laughing out loud more than once. Lorelei King is a great narrator. Another great book in the series. Hope Darynda does more! Even though many loose ends have been tied up with this third book I think there's many more great stories that could be written around this town and these characters.

Fantastic next piece to Sun & Levi
Such a great finished detail of Sunshine and Levi and Ari with the circle of people in their lives. I truly hope the story continues with Ari and Cruise and the rest of the town and all their great characters and subplots. The characters are brought to life by the narrator and all the great wise cracks and internal voices. I love the various street sign narrative.
Can’t wait for the next one !

Laugh out loud!
Can't wait for more. The characters are endearing, the writing quick and clever. My only issue is the hard choices to pick a favorite character.

is this for teens?
I thought this series was about the new sheriff, not about her daughter. Take out the sex and swearing, and this would read well for a teen.
over half the story is centered on the daughter of the sheriff and her crimefighting skills.
kinda disappointing. I mean the sheriff and her deputies are hard pressed at solving the crime in the town. the first book was good then it started to focus on the daughter. I think I'll save my credits for something different. sad, considering I liked the other authors books.
