About this listen
Semi-finalist - The Kindle Book Review, Best Indie Books of 2012
"The first book in the best-selling Elemental Mysteries series by Elizabeth Hunter, Elemental Mysteries has turned into one of the best paranormal series I've read this year. It's sharp, elegant, clever, evenly paced without dragging its feet, and at the same time emotionally intense."
—Nocturnal Book Reviews
No secret stays hidden forever. A phone call from an old friend sets mysterious book researcher Giovanni Vecchio back on the path of a mystery that has eluded him for centuries. Little does he suspect a young librarian holds the key to an ancient secret, nor could he expect the danger Beatrice De Novo would attract. Now both will follow a twisted maze leading from the archives of a university library, through the fires of Renaissance Florence, and toward a passion that could destroy them both.

This is where it started...
A Hidden Fire was how I was introduce to Elizabeth Hunter's writing and the Elemental Mysteries!
Although I'm not a huge fan of the vampire thing, I was hooked in to this series right from the start. I enjoy the characters and how they develop. I like the settings and the history.
I recommend this series and all the ones I have read since to all of my reading friends.....

Awful narrator
I love this book series and have reread it many times. Just started getting in to audio books as a way to keep reading while doing other things. overall it worked and was great, unfortunately the narrator has a terrible voice. Her pacing is fine but she just sounds awful. Her attempt at the many accents was embarassing. There were several intense scenes that were ruined by her over the top accents.
