About this listen
Since graduating from Whisperwood School for Boys, William has found a sense of normalcy in his life with James. He has a steady (albeit secret) relationship, a home, and a job - even if it doesn't pay the greatest. Never mind that he lacks James' reckless bravery when it comes to dealing with spirits; he does his best, and it hasn't killed him thus far.
When a new client calls on their expertise in solving a grisly multiple homicide, William resists. They're spirit hunters, not detectives. But the money is too much to pass up when they don't know when their next meal will be, and soon they're arriving at Evenbury Manor, nestled in a close-knit rural community, ready to investigate.
They're in over their heads, but in very different ways than William could have anticipated. The hills are filled with creatures far more dangerous than any they've ever encountered, and their usual tactics aren't working. On top of his renewed struggles with his addiction, William is left to fend for himself against the dead to protect not only the community, but the person in the world that's most important to him.

Soooo goood
This audiobook was really good more than the first. It was, scary, thrilling, emotional, funny(sometimes), and overall entertaining. I enjoy every second of it and the audio was easy to follow.

Good book
I originally wrote a negative review for this book but I've changed my rating from 1 to 4.
Read book 1. Book one explains so much of what I originally found annoying in this book because it explains the relationship between the two main characters and how they came together and it also broadens the insight into their personalities.
I don't know why I didn't read book 1 the first time around and truth be told I re-downloaded this book not realizing I had read and hated it until it downloaded into my library as finished. I re-listened and no longer think it runs on in tangents. I am no longer annoyed by either character's personalities or their actions and am glad I gave this series a second chance.
I love books narrated by both Kale Williams and Joel Leslie and understand why the author switched up the narrators, as book 1 was from one lead's POV and this book is from William's (the second lead) POV, HOWEVER, I have to say I enjoyed Kale Williams' narration more.
The only thing I did not like is that unlike book 1, this book leaves you with a cliff hanger that most likely won't be explained in book 3 as it seems the 3rd installment is with Preston and Ben (read book 1 to know who they are).
