Publisher's Summary
It's crazy how fast the buzz comes back after you've been sober for so long.
Whiskey stood there, on my doorstep, just like he had one year before. Except this time, there was no rain, no anger, no wedding invitation - it was just us.
It was just him - the old friend, the easy smile, the twisted solace wrapped in a glittering bottle.
It was just me - the alcoholic, pretending like I didn't want to taste him, realizing too quickly that months of being clean didn't make me crave him any less.
But we can't start here.
No, to tell this story right, we need to go back.
Back to the beginning.
Back to the very first drop.
This is my love letter to Whiskey. I only hope he reads it.

Oh Lawd
This book had me enthralled! I held my breath throughout this turbulent and roller coaster of a story. Everything is perfect from the tone of the narrator to the pace of the book.

Poor character development, DNF
So, I’m at chapter 8 and need to cut this loose. Both characters have no substance at all. There’s some initial effort given to B’s issues with her Dad but almost no mention of the mom she lives with throughout high school. She appears to have one friend and that’s it. Like, where are the relationships??? And she instantly falls for Jamie because he’s hot, but then there’s no actual development of why they like each other. They surf together, go to watch cheerleading together, and he takes her for rides, but there’s no dialogue. What do they actually know about each other???? The book seems to be a never ending stream of B’s thoughts and y’all, I’m not here for it. Not to mention the endless love triangles for no reason. If you don’t like books where clear communication would have just solved the problem, this one probably isn’t for you. Returning this one.
Performance: Didn’t love it. The narrator did all the female voices except the main characters in an annoying, whiny tone that I hated.
