About this listen
“I now pronounce you husband and wife.” There are few phrases as sobering, with the possible exceptions of “We have lift-off” and “This country is at war.” Yet, as they have done for centuries, millions of courageous men and women continue to walk down the aisle every year, without so much as a job description. Now, in her most autobiographical book, Erma Bombeck puts it all in loving and laughing perspective, as she looks back on her own 43-year-but-who’s-counting marriage.

Touching
This is a beautiful memoir on marriage, children, grandchildren and just an overall story about the different stages in life. It touched on many emotional topics and had a twist of humour. I loved this book and would recommend it. I now realize why my mother read Erma Bombeck books. She’s a wonderful author and will be reading more of her books.

Funny & Insightful
I watched Mrs Bombeck on Good Morning America as a teenager. Her humor about family life made both me and my Mom laugh. I got all her books and we shared laughter over them as well. Mom is gone now, but listening to this book made me feel like I was sharing a laugh with Mom again. “She knows” Mom would say. “Knows what?” “You’ll see.”
