About this listen
Lady Miranda Hawthorne acts every inch the lady, but inside she longs to be bold and carefree. Entering her fourth season and approaching spinsterhood in the eyes of society, she pours her innermost feelings out not in a diary but in letters to her brother's old school friend, a duke - with no intention of ever sending these private thoughts to a man she's heard stories about but never met.
Meanwhile, she also finds herself intrigued by Marlow, her brother's new valet, and although she may wish to break free of the strictures that bind her, falling in love with a servant is more of a rebellion than she planned. When Marlow accidentally discovers and mails one of the letters to her unwitting confidant, Miranda is beyond mortified. And even more shocked when the duke returns her note with one of his own that initiates a courtship by mail.
Insecurity about her lack of suitors shifts into confusion at her growing feelings for two men - one she's never met but whose words deeply resonate with her heart and one she has come to depend on but whose behavior is more and more suspicious. When it becomes apparent state secrets are at risk and Marlow is right in the thick of the conflict, one thing is certain: Miranda's heart is far from all that's at risk for the Hawthornes and those they love.

A very honest and captivating story.
It was very romantic without the inappropriate sex scenes. Very clever and witty dialogue. I have already recommended it and will be looking into other books by this author.

Excellent series
I have finished this whole series. 4 books in all. I couldn’t put them down. Each one leaves you wanting to get on to the next. Wanting to find out what is happening to the next member of this loving noble family.

So cheeky and fun!
This was the cheekiest sassy wonderful and most original story I’ve heard in… ever! An exuberant, sweet romance full of adventure, daring and courage. Loved it.

A Cute Story with Comedic Moments
Overall, a decent clean regency romance - there were a lot of funny moments. However, the chemistry between the h/h seemed a bit off. It was better at the beginning of the story when they were getting to know each other and formed a friendship but then *bam* there were in love and it seemed kinda forced.
Overall though was a good story and the narrator did a good job - not sure if it's worth the credit though.

Undesirable Hero
Hero was underhanded and unrepentant. The whole story had misogynistic undertones. Heroine was made to doubt her completely valid feelings over and over.

good narration
Good story but for some reason halfway through it starts mentioning god and prayer and never stops, which I found distracting and annoying since, obviously, god doesn't have anything to do with the plot or its resolution. This is not the author for me.
Good narration, though.
