The characters are what make the stories!

I adore the characters Gilman creates! Several in this one are favourites. And I need to mention the narrator’s voice. She is terrific and stays in character, with accents and tones for each person, giving them individuality and consistency. Gilman continues to balance humour and a light touch with dark, disturbing and tension-filled scenes. It’s impressive!
