Publisher's Summary

A beautiful piece of literature by a great saint of the church. St. John of the Cross was a man in search of Christ, a true follower of the ways of God. By only simple observation, it seems that his entire life was swallowed up in the glory and majesty of God, and we have the great privilege of peering into that relationship through his written works. This is a book describing the search of a lovesick soul for her wonderful bridegroom. A truly remarkable spring for anyone desiring a deeper life with God. May you be blessed as you listen to this book!

Book Inspiring, but sadly a part Missing in Audio

This is a beautiful and great book. I hope that through listening to this canticle many will be inspired and encouraged to seek a deeper level of their own soul to love Jesus Christ and the Word of God.

But sadly, when listening to the audio version, part of a paragraph is missing in Stanza 2 number 8. The reader jumps from the first "to which appertain" to the second "to which appertains" and leaves out everything in between.

"to which appertain" the riches of the knowledge of the Son of God, "In whom all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hid." The wormwood, which is a most bitter herb, relates to the will, "to which appertains" the sweetness of the fruition of God…

This is a very small thing, but there is a significant meaning missing, and it doesn't make sense if you're listening to it.
