Publisher's Summary
Following his 2019 production of A Raisin in the Sun, celebrated as "an absorbing, watershed revival," by The New York Times, Robert O’Hara returns to Williamstown Theatre Festival to direct this Tennessee Williams masterpiece. With Emmy, Grammy, and six-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald as Blanche DuBois alongside Carla Gugino as Stella, O’Hara takes a fresh and visceral look at the emotionally charged relationship between these two iconic sisters. Haunted by her past, Blanche seeks refuge with Stella and Stanley (Ariel Shafir) in New Orleans, where she wrestles with the nature of her sister’s husband, her sister’s denial, and her own unraveling mind.

Classic brought to life in audio form
Absolutely riveting performance. Stanley, Blanche and Stella fully illuminated to the extent which the undertaking of their roles deserved. The performance was engaging and opens up the audiobook form as an impressive medium to experience one of the greatest American plays ever written.

Silver Medal Streetcar
Amazing to have this available for free to Audible members. Please do yourself a favor and listen if you've never experienced the play. However, I prefer the performances available in the BBC Tennessee Williams collection, most significantly the performance of Stanley. If you want a taste of Tennessee Williams without spending a credit then you can't go wrong with this, but if you're looking for the best version of Streetcar on Audible, I would look to the BBC version.

This performance was terrible!
Seriously. Some of the characters were portrayed in a "nails on a chalkboard" level of terrible!
