Story
Twelve-year-old Sophie has never quite fit into her life. She’s skipped multiple grades and doesn’t really connect with the older kids at school, but she’s not comfortable with her family, either. The reason? Sophie’s a Telepath, someone who can read minds. No one knows her secret - at least, that’s what she thinks.... But the day Sophie meets Fitz, a mysterious (and adorable) boy, she learns she’s not alone. He’s a Telepath too, and it turns out the reason she has never felt at home is that, well...she isn’t. Fitz opens Sophie’s eyes to a shocking truth....

Story
Ivan is an easygoing gorilla. Living at the Exit 8 Big Top Mall and Video Arcade, he has grown accustomed to humans watching him through the glass walls of his domain. He rarely misses his life in the jungle. In fact, he hardly ever thinks about it at all. Instead, Ivan thinks about TV shows he's seen and about his friends Stella, an elderly elephant, and Bob, a stray dog. But mostly Ivan thinks about art and how to capture the taste of a mango or the sound of leaves with color and a well-placed line.

What the critics say
"It's hard not to love a book dedicated to the Glee star's grandmother...Colfer gets off many good lines [and] the nifty ending ties the plot's multiple strands up while leaving room for further fairy tale adventures." (Publishers Weekly)

Super enjoyable
I have Chris colfer’s other books ( i.e land of stories) and thoroughly enjoy both series its a great story with all the books connected, the tale of magic even though it came out after it a great add on if you have all ready read land of stories because the characters make more sense, a definite must read and listen to especially with Chris Colfer’s reading of the book you get to hear how the character sound in his head with being the author and that’s a treat

Fun, engaging story
Chris Colder channels the fantastical tales of Enid Blyton with the zany characters of Roald Dahl. While this story isn't quite on par with those two authors that shaped my childhood, I couldn't help but think of them as I listened to the author read his fun, engaging story.

A beautiful story with a beautiful message
This story holds a a mirror of fantasy over many subjects we deal with in our day to day lives, such as discrimination, acceptance of different groups, empowerment and even political corruption. Worth the read and the listen!

Great story
The only thing that bothered me is the over use of the work ‘however.’ Still a great story and the narrator really brings everything to life!
