Humorous narration

Narrator reads it like he wrote it, excellent! The series is great, with characters and background storyline evolving while new police work emerges. LOVE this series!

Excellent Series

Just finished book 6 and can honestly say it was the best one yet. The plot have everything a real page turner. I love reading books but sometimes when they are read to you the narrator can emphasize and create images and emotions that you might miss when reading. Such is the case with Angus King, - he is amazing. Different accents and tones brings to life every page of this book and others, of course, that he has read.

Only one criticism Mr. Kirk, you wrote "you have two choices" no - you have 'two options', choose one.

good

A fitting end to the Mister Whisper arc. It got pretty excessive, but I thoroughly enjoyed it,

Harrowing

Grim story but still very good in every way and I am still hooked on the series.

The non-stop cursing by Logan’s boss is just too much.

I love these books. I love the characters, the stories, the humour, and the narrator. But DCI Logan’s boss, Hoon, is a hostile, angry, high-strung cop who drops F-bomb every three or four words. I have no idea what the author is trying to do with this character. I’m not a prude and I make use of the f-word myself when appropriate, but the over-the-top usage by this cantankerous character is just jarring to listen to. I’m not sure if the author expects us to find it amusing or if he’s trying to torture his listeners (I suspect the swearing wouldn’t be as irksome in the written version of the books). I’ve gotten to the point in this series that if Hoon continues as a central character I won’t be able to listen to any more of the audiobooks, which would be a real shame. Aside from Hoon’s relentless cursing, I’ve noticed that Kirk’s characters generally use more vulgar language with each new book and I don’t understand why.
