About this listen
Learn to take control of your life through an in-depth understanding of motivation
What is motivation? Why do we feel totally paralyzed to do certain things, and utterly unable to quit others? Too many people conclude, falsely, that they are just lazy or lacking in willpower. But what they lack is a correct understanding of their own minds, of motivation, and the way that it operates.
This audiobook is a self-help manual and a rigorous analysis of the psychology of motivation. It will teach you to stop procrastinating, kick your addictions, circumvent laziness, take control of your actions, and achieve your goals, by thoroughly understanding the way your mind works.
In it, you’ll learn:
- What the nature of motivation is, on its deepest psychological level
- Why addiction and procrastination are two sides of the same coin
- Why there’s no fundamental difference between a physical and psychological addiction
- Why willpower is rarely the solution to anything
- Why and how emotions motivate
You’ll also learn 15 powerful strategies for motivating yourself, why they work, and how to apply them to your own life. By the end of this audiobook, you’ll possess all the tools you need to take firm control of your daily existence.

Story
The human body was honed under unique conditions that no longer exist. The modern world has changed dramatically since our days as hunter gatherers, and it has caused widespread anxiety, stress, and disease, leaving our brains in disrepair. But science proves that the body and brain can be healed with the intervention of lifestyle protocols that help us to regain our cognitive birthright. In the Genius Life, Lugavere expands the Genius Foods plan, which focused on nutrition and how it affects brain health, and expands it to encompass a full lifestyle protocol.

Meh.
I’m not sure if it was the writer’s choice of words and writing or the readers lack of lustre, but this book was difficult to stay focussed on. If anything it’s more about procrastinating than addiction.

relatable but pointless
maybe the spark to some people would be that some of the examples of characters in this audiobook would be that they are relatable. the whole thing is seemingly pointless as I had bought it for real insight and solutions, not talking about what it is like to be lazy and such.

This audiobook was a struggle to listen to. The narrator's voice was intensely monotone, and I had a hard time concentrating on the content. Nearly fell asleep on the bus, walking and biking lol.
