Publisher's Summary
What the critics say
"A proven master of the British police procedural, Robinson should find a large audience for this gripping, psychologically astute tale." (Publishers Weekly)
"This multilayered novel puts Banks firmly in the upper echelon of British mystery writers." (Library Journal)
"A devilishly good plotter...[Robinson's] characterizations are so subtle that even the psychological profiler is stumped." (New York Times Book Review)

Sad
I was so disappointed by the reader, this sounded like a completely different Inspector Banks. Most of the characters sounded like they were either whining or being snarky, including Banks. I won’t be getting any more of the series

Disappointing
I,ve listened to many Banks mysteries and enjoyed all. I did not enjoy the narration especially the female oices. The 2 North American characters both spoke with local English dialect similar to all the others.
Many of the females sounded Whitney, even when portraying other sentiments. Banks, accent was not reminiscent of the other recorded Banks books.

HORRID NARRATOR!
I was almost unable to listen to the telling of this story due the poor and irritating narrarion.
I can not imagine how this poor choise came about.
Also; Peter Robinsons's reserch is, to say the least lacking when he can refer to Toronto as a "clean and safe" place !
It far from being either, very far!
