About this listen
Contains books one and two of the Prophecies series.
Agent of Prophecy, book one
A 17-year-old princess's life of leisure has been shattered when an ancient prophecy forces her into the role of an assassin and guardian. It's that or death to her and everyone she loves.
Arabelle is the daughter of a merchant king whose life of leisure is shattered when she's attacked by a poisonous creature that hasn't walked the land in over five centuries. Unfortunately, she finds herself an unwitting agent of an ancient prophecy that promises death to her and all she loves.
To avoid such a fate, all she has to do is overcome the debilitating effects of the poison coursing through her veins, find the heirs to the prophecy, and help them overthrow a despot who's been ruling the land with an iron fist for nearly five centuries. As an agent of the prophecy, she has no other choice.
Heirs of Prophecy, book two
Seventeen-year-old Ryan Riverton and his family are exploring some ancient caves when an earthquake turns their world upside-down.
The Rivertons find themselves in a new land that they’re completely unprepared for. Tjeu are subjects of an ancient prophecy that predicted their arrival, and their arrival doesn’t go unnoticed. The tyrant that rules over this new land is looking for them.
Includes a special note from the author.

Very traditional gender roles
This is set in the fantasy medieval ages, so in a way it makes sense. Book 1 has a heroine being a badass. Book 2 switches protagonists, and seems to have the message “women are the most satisfied at home cooking for their husband and raising children.”. There is literally the line “sometimes its nice to have your husband think for you”. And there’s arranged marriages without the pushback one would expect in modern story telling. This feels like a book written in the 80’s not in 2023.

Very nice and simple fantasy novel
I have enjoyed the first 2 books very much. The second of the 2 actually caught me off guard. It had a bit of an anime feel to it.
I've purchased the next and hope they are just as enticing...

Original
Cool story. Interesting how each book shows a different angle to the story. At least one question remains unanswered: what happened to Arrabelle's dwarf friend? I guess we'll know in book 3! Narrator is great!

Things just kinda happen
I get that the point of this book is prophecies, and how they work, but there’s only so much “plot convince” I can stomach. Every character is strangely perfect, becomes powerful with little to no effort, and is in the right place at all times. Also the riverton family is far more okay with being isekaid into a fantasy world then I think is reasonable. They’re just one example of how no one in these books act like a person would
