About this listen
Alchemists' Council: Booktrack Edition adds an immersive musical soundtrack to your audiobook listening experience!*
As a new initiate with the Alchemists’ Council, Jaden is trained to maintain the elemental balance of the world, while fending off interference by the malevolent Rebel Branch. Bees are disappearing from the pages of the ancient manuscripts in Council dimension and from the outside world, threatening its very existence. Jaden navigates alchemy’s complexities, but the more she learns, the more she begins to question Council practices. Erasure - a procedure designed not only to remove individuals from Council dimension but also from the memories of other alchemists - troubles Jaden, and she uses her ingenuity to remember one of the erased people. In doing so, she realizes the Rebel Branch might not be the enemy she was taught to fight against.
Jaden is caught between her responsibility to the Council and her growing allegiance to the rebels, as the Council finds itself at the brink of war. She is faced with an ethical dilemma involving the free will of all humanity and must decide whether or not she can save the worlds.
*Booktrack is an immersive listening experience that pairs traditional audiobook narration to complementary music and sound effects. The tempo and rhythm of the score are in perfect harmony with the action and characters throughout the audiobook. Gently playing in the background, the music never overpowers or distracts from the narration, so listeners can enjoy every minute. When you purchase this Booktrack edition, you receive the exact narration as the traditional audiobook available, with the addition of music throughout.

“Masson has a lyrical writing style that echoes some of the English romantics’ focus on beauty and nature. She excels at propelling the story forward with complex characters.”(Publishers Weekly)

Fascinating
Took a few chapters to get into it, but was fascinated by the complex weavings as the book progressed.

Alchemists Council Will Kept You Going
This book was so excellent I stopped taking the subway just so that I could walk and listen to the story longer. The overall narrative was captivating. The characters tantalizing and the elements of surprise were abundant. As a listener I was often left thinking over the ethical questions brought up by the book for hours on end. Of all the books in my Audible library this is my favourite #Audible1. I highly recommend this book to anyone who desires even an ounce of wonder.

A complex and magical journey into another dimension
Kudos to the author for building such a detailed, complex, and magical world. The characters are layered, no one is quite who they seem, and the narrative takes twists and turns.
At first, I thought this was a bit too new-agey for me, but after a couple of chapters I was completely drawn in. I’ve got the next book already queued up.
The only flaw in the experience was the reader. Her slow and deliberate cadence makes her sound like she’s reciting psalms; her style does not always support the story.

enjoyed it
I quite enjoyed the book, but for some reason it was both intriguing and boring at the same time. not sure why that was though. Looking forward to listening to the next book.

The reader did this book so dirty
The story was interesting and should have been exciting, but the woman who read it sounded like she was reading an instruction manual.
