About this listen

The Psy/Changeling world has undergone a staggering transformation and now stands at a crossroads. The Trinity Accord promises a new era of cooperation between disparate races and groups. It is a beacon of hope held together by many hands: old enemies, new allies, and wary loners.

But a century of distrust and suspicion can't be so easily forgotten and threatens to shatter Trinity from within at any moment. As rival members vie for dominance, chaos and evil gather in the shadows and a kidnapped woman's cry for help washes up in San Francisco, while the Consortium turns its murderous gaze toward a child who is the embodiment of change, of love, of piercing hope: a child who is both Psy and Changeling.

To find the lost, protect the vulnerable - and save Trinity - no one can stand alone. This is a time of loyalty across divisions, of bonds woven into the heart and the soul, of heroes known and unknown standing back to back and holding the line. But is an allegiance of honor even possible with traitors lurking in their midst?

Very Sweet, But Better If You've Read The Series

I confess: I started reading this book without reading of the previous 14 books. And boy, did that make a difference. I want to stress that the writing, story, and characters are not bad. Far from it. But not having all the previous context definitely made for a different reading experience.

ALLEGIANCE OF HONOR is a story about family and changeling packs coming together to support and protect one another as they work to stabilize a peace known as Trinity. While there are main characters who drive the plot, there are also moments where other couples from the previous books take the spotlight.

This is where I got lost. Much of the book felt like fluff, since we spent so much time with couples who got their happily-ever-afters or were looking to repair other relationships. It got to be too much since I hadn't spent much time with any of the characters. It was hard to connect with them since the stakes didn't seem to be very high, for the most point.

Granted, ALLEGIANCE OF HONOR is very sweet and perfect for long time fans, but I would have begun at a different point rather than at the end.

The writing itself is very good and I've enjoyed Nalini Singh books enough that I will continue with other works of hers. But I will definitely start at the beginning, next time!

Ok

This book was interesting for the fact that rather than being another book about two people falling in love and being mates and getting engaged (it feels like that’s every book!) this one we got glimpses into the life of many of the couples we have already met and where they are now we’ll still following a background story of them trying to save a water shifter and how the three species (psy, shifters and humans) are trying to work together for a better future…. All while a group in the back is trying to pull it apart.

It was nice to see where they are now, some getting pregnant, having their babies or getting engaged. But yet again the book was a bit long winded, I feel like they don’t need to be this long!
