About this listen

We like to eat sweet things. That is not going to change.

Modern artificial sweeteners were developed so that we can have sweet things yet decrease the sucrose in our diet. They are sucrose replacements that do not have many calories if any, and do not affect insulin secretion which leads to the development of insulin resistance and eventual obesity or Type 2 diabetes.

Using sweeteners sounds like a great idea. The problem is they do not work. They simply do not lead to weight loss.

I will go over the various sweeteners and explain why they do not work. Not only that, they cause several other problems. Never the less, we are going to use some and I will explain which are better than others.

Most everyone uses these products to lose weight. Let me explain why you gain weight, and what you can do about it. I will not tell you to stop sucrose, but I will tell you to cut back a little. I will explain what practical weight loss diets are available and explain how the GLP-1 agonists work for weight loss. They do result in weight loss for almost everyone who uses them. At least while you are taking them.

There is a way to reasonably use sweeteners, and there are sweeteners you should eliminate from your diet completely.

I will eventually endorse allulose as the best sweetener to use to prevent insulin resistance and explain how it works. In the next to last chapter I will describe an experimental allulose weight loss diet. It has not yet been shown to work, but by explaining this diet I will be explaining the use of non-sucrose sweeteners.
