About this listen
In number one New York Times best seller Kelley Armstrong's latest thriller, the hidden town of Rockton is about to face a challenge none of them saw coming: a baby.
Every season in Rockton seems to bring a new challenge. At least that's what Detective Casey Duncan has felt since she decided to call this place home. Between all the secretive residents, the sometimes-hostile settlers outside, and the surrounding wilderness, there's always something to worry about.
While on a much needed camping vacation with her boyfriend, Sheriff Eric Dalton, Casey hears a baby crying in the woods. The sound leads them to a tragic scene: a woman buried under the snow, murdered, a baby still alive in her arms.
A town that doesn't let anyone in under the age of 18, Rockton must take care of its youngest resident yet while solving another murder and finding out where the baby came from - and whether she's better off where she is.
Number one New York Times best-selling author Kelley Armstrong again delivers an engaging, tense thriller set in perhaps the most interesting town in all of contemporary crime fiction.

"Fans of thrillers, small-town mysteries and classic PI novels will be well pleased." (Publishers Weekly)
"Armstrong is an adept storyteller...who makes the rather out-there idea of a small, protected community full of people with things to hide seem not only plausible but entirely believable. Fans of the author who have not yet checked out the Rockton novels should do so, pronto." (Booklist)
"[A] master of crime thrillers." (Kirkus Reviews)

Another great listen
Therese Plummer is probably one of my favourite narrators and she brings this story to life. Kelley Armstrong is also one of my favourite authors. Her worlds are captivating and this story did not disappoint.

This series gets better and better
Therese Plummer did a fantastic job with the book, as she has with all of the others in the series. The story itself reminded me why I adore Kelley Armstrong. Her world-building is amazing, and I love that the characters in her series grow and develop from book to book.

Good, but not the best
I loved all previous books in the Rockton series but found this one to be not nearly as good. The story wasn’t very intriguing and it seemed to me to be a mere filler book to lead to a future instalment. I like it when all the characters are given attention and this book spent little time on the residents of Rockton and more on what might be in store for Casey and Dalton. Honestly....I was generous with my rating, simply because I loved the other books so much. If this had been the first book I read from this series, I would not have read any other.

Rockton #5
If you are following this series this is a solid follow in the path set by previous novels. I have extremely enjoyed all of the books in this line, however I cannot yet vouch for books in other series or timelines/settings. Great for readers of Agatha Christie and closed room mysteries.

wow!
I own 200 Audible books. This series is my number 1 out of all. Everything was superb! I'm planning on listening again. My most memorable moments was the ability of the Narrator. I always knew whichever character was speaking. Very talented! Thank you for this amazing wonderful series and I look forward to the next installment.
Amazing writing!!
