Well thought out, epic
I’ve been a Kong fan since his books hit audible. If you like Lit RPG, you’ll love this addition to the labyrinth! I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next in this series.
Also, Pavi Proczko did a great job sharing Aleron’s story and adding his flair.
Thanks for giving me a few hours of enjoyments! I’ll be doing a re-listen in a couple months!!

A book that never starts and a bad narrator change.
The book gets no where by the end and feels like a prologue to the book I should be getting. I'm not a fan of this narrator either I've found him full and mono tone in ever book I've heard him read. I love kong's mind but this book just droned on about things that didn't progress the story at all. it ended and I couldn't help but feel like it never really started.

Love the world building
I was a fan of his old series, and as much as I want another “the land” book, I can’t deny that this book was a great listen. I love the world building he’s setting up, and I’m excited to see where it goes. I’ll definitely be checking the next one out, and I’ll probably give this one another listen at some point in a couple months too!

Fun and engaging
I thought the story was really interesting. after having read the other books by Aleron I found the opening sequence which was cosmic in its scope was great as it gave some interesting insights on his other books, however for a newcomer it might have been hard. The story does pickup and is a fun story which just feels heroic with the MC refusing to give into adversity.
I like how the MC really isn't a "good guy" and you get the impression that he is going to have to work really hard to not be the embodiment of evil.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Adventure morally gray characters and complex social issues couched in adult humor

dark and brooding
I think this is my least liked series aleron has written. his first series was fun and playfully with banter among friend where his latest series seems like an emotional unstable person's diary. I'm glad people enjoy it but it is not my thing. I wont be buying anymore of alerons side books.

Good addition to the series, if a bit short
Story was fun and the world building was interesting. Main character is likeable and I look forward to seeing how he progresses. Wish it were longer.

Too much mechanics, too little plot
Much of what made The Land great is missing from Kong’s latest book. The LitRPG “game” mechanics fill up the majority of the book. The plot is minimal and the “lone wolf” character is rather dull. The world mechanics are overly complex and take over the book. As much as I applaud his vision to expand the universe, I would like more plot, characters and story instead of a character sitting in a room going through his interface and abilities which is easily half the book.
