About this listen

A lesbian romance about music, accepting the past, and embracing second chances to write a new future...

When golden girl pop star Bridget Callahan's broken engagement comes out, she heads back to her hometown for the first time in five years to write songs for her next album. And maybe while she's there, she'll finally be able to face the woman she left behind - who she never let go.

Bar owner Alex Marlow has spent the past five years mending her broken heart by pretending she doesn't have one. But Bridget's return disrupts her ordered life and brings all those chaotic, buried feelings back to the surface. Can they forgive each other and themselves for mistakes made when they were younger?

Contains mature themes.

it was OK

this book was not what i was hoping for from all the comments and reviews and the little blurb describing the story I thought Alex would be angry at her ex for destroying her life and smashing her heart into pieces they talk 1 time and boom Alex just ignores the fact her ex destroyed her and immediately she forgives her and they start getting back together... from what everyone was saying they made it seem like Alex would have a spine and stick to her guns but instead the second she saw her ex boom we bff's again every story is like this now adays 4/10

A great listen, a heartwarming story

I really enjoyed this audiobook. Narration was excellent, Melissa Moran did a great job of bringing the book to life. The story was heart touching, i loved the descriptions of Alex and Bridgets past life together, very beautiful to hear how they interacted and treated each other as friends and as GFs. I really liked the book looking @ grief and how it effects you. & i loved this example of two people on a journey trying to let go of hurt they caused each other & get to happiness, something i will takes to heart, and try to let go of the stuff i hold on to, to let myself find happiness. Do Alex & Bridget manage to let go of the pasts pain and find happiness? Listen and find out, it’s a wonderful reading journey!

a little stuck

While realistic for the personality types, it was frustrating as a narrative to watch Alex so stuck in the past and unable to move forward. It was frustrating how repetitive it all felt. Sex was fade to black, which isn't my favourite.
