About this listen

"Russian influence" may have entered our national pop-consciousness in Election 2016, but it is the shiny, deceptive, contested, and buried X-factor of a century of wars in Washington. In American Betrayal, Diana West digs deep to uncover a body of lies that Americans have been led to regard as the near-sacred history of World War II and its Cold War aftermath.

Part real-life thriller, part national tragedy, American Betrayal lights up the massive, Moscow-directed penetration of America's most hallowed halls of power, revealing not just the familiar struggle between Communism and the Free World, but the hidden and unceasing war between those wishing to conceal the truth and those trying to expose the official web of lies.

American Betrayal is America's lost history, a chronicle that pits Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Harry Truman, Dwight David Eisenhower, and other American icons who shielded overlapping Kremlin-directed conspiracies against the investigators, politicians, defectors, and others (including Senator Joseph McCarthy) who tried to tell the American people the truth.

American Betrayal shatters the approved, "court histories" of an era that begins with FDR's first inauguration and ends when we "win" the Cold War. It is here, amid the rubble, where Diana West focuses on the World War II - Cold War deal with the devil in which America surrendered her principles in exchange for a series of Big Lies whose preservation is the basis of the tryanny of the "Swamp" today. It was this moral surrender to deception and self-deception, West argues, that sent us down the long road to moral relativism and "political correctness". In American Betrayal, Diana West shakes the historical record to bring down a new understanding not only of our past, but our present.

eye opening

I grew up during the 60's and 70's, my father talked about the communist influence in Canada and the US. I wished he could have read this book as it explains everything and even more of what he talked about. he would have been shocked but not surprised

History Buried In PC Culture

I already knew FD Roosevelt was a POS but I didn't know a quarter of it. An in depth deep dive into the history of our world going back to the second world war and how it affects us today is an understatement of what Diana West has accomplished with this weighty tome. I was angry for much of this book, angry at the evil that permeated the upper echelons of government, for a very long time and still permeates within the government. President Trump is fighting against what seems to be insurmountable odds when you start to understand the infiltration of Communist forces within the power structure. First with the Soviets, now the Chinese and Islam. Ms West is right, ignorance is not bliss, it's just ignorance. Here is yet another masterful red pill for everyone. Read this book.

A shocking and well researched book

It is amazing how much of History has been rewritten with the bad parts shoved down the memory hole, You won't find much about the American co-president Harry Hopkins being a Soviet sympathizer nor the details of his lend-lease program to give the Russians all they needed to build a nuclear bomb

#Audible1

Everything is not as it seems

I wish I had read this book when it first came out in 2014. This is the best book I've ever seen that explains our current predicament (2023) where it is obvious facts don't matter. The plandemic, the persecution of Jan 6 detainees in the American Gulag, to the 8 years of persecution of President Trump - it all has its roots decades earlier by communist subversives in the FDR administration. Even back then, the truth tellers like Joseph McCarthy were targeted whereas traitors like Alger Hiss, Laughlin Currie and Harry Hopkins wore coats of teflon and nothing stuck. Original sources like George Racey Jordan's book about the lend-lease corruption which helped Stalin get the bomb are referenced throughout. Diana West sprinkles her writing with a humorous style that adds to the enjoyment of this book - it heightens the sick reality we now live in.
