Anna Plochl, 1804 als Tochter eines Postmeisters in Aussee geboren, war 15 Jahre alt, als sie am steirischen Toplitzsee Erzherzog Johann erstmals traf. Der Bruder des damaligen österreichischen Kaisers Franz I. verliebte sich sofort in sein "Nannerl".
Er wollte sie bereits 1923 vor den Traualtar führen, doch vorerst verweigerte sein Bruder die Zustimmung zu diser Ehe mit einer Bürgerlichen. Erzherzog Johann und Anna mussten woch weitere sechs Jahre bis zur Einwilligung des Kaisers warten ...
