About this listen

NATIONAL BESTSELLER • The globe-trotting spy thriller that inspired the star-studded film Argylle, now streaming on Apple TV+, featuring Henry Cavill, Bryce Dallas Howard, Samuel L. Jackson, and John Cena, and directed by Matthew Vaughn of Kingsman trilogy fame

A luxury train speeding towards Moscow and a date with destiny.

A CIA plane downed in the jungles of the Golden Triangle.

A Nazi hoard entombed in the remote mountains of South-West Poland.

A missing treasure, the eighth wonder of the world, lost for seven decades.

One Russian magnate's dream of restoring a nation to greatness has set in motion a chain of events which will take the world to the brink of chaos.

Only Frances Coffey, the CIA's most legendary spymaster, can prevent it. But to do so, she needs someone special.

Enter Argylle, a troubled agent with a tarnished past who may just have the skills to take on one of the most powerful men in the world. If only he can save himself first...

Didn’t meet the hype

I was excited for a spy/mystery but the writing was honestly very boring and drawn out.

had to listen before I saw the movie

I love a good spy book. And this was definitely a good one! Agent Argylle seems like the perfect, all around new recruit (even if he joins a bit begrudgingly). I hope there are more books, I'd like to dive deeper into some topics!

There seems to be a lot of hype around this one, between the movie actors signing books left in stores, randomly, conspiracies about the author, and of course, the movie that just came out. I was picturing one or two of the characters as the ones I've seen in the movie trailer, but seeing the movie tonight will help me put them all into picture!

The book seems only half what the movie appears to be about. But with the info from this book, hopefully I'll be set up perfectly for the movie, and any Easter eggs dropped throughout!

Taylor Swift Easter eggs

I feel like this author likes Taylor Swift a lot or it was written by Taylor Swift! There is an Easter egg in every chapter and the phrase all too well throughout
