The Antidote is a series of journeys among people who share a single, surprising way of thinking about life. What they have in common is a hunch about human psychology: that it’s our constant effort to eliminate the negative that causes us to feel so anxious, insecure, and unhappy. And that there is an alternative "negative path" to happiness and success that involves embracing the things we spend our lives trying to avoid.

The impact of psychology on entrepreneurs
I was very interested to hear about how psychology and limiting beliefs can impact our ability to succeed. The fact that women and minorities are taught to be small and not take up too much space or make a lot of noise when they are young and how it impacts us when we grow up really resonated with me.
I was also surprised to learn that returns on social media campaigns are a lot lower than email campaigns.
I look forward to take the information that I have learned and incorporate it into my small business.
Thank you, Miriam!

Artists CAN become successful entrepreneurs!
Any artist who dreams of making a living from their art should read this book. It gives a great structure of an art business (actually for many businesses) and addresses the BIG THINGS: your mindset (which can help or hinder you), your processes (her framework is production, pricing, prospecting, promotion and your productivity) which can make or break you. It really helped me evaluate my art practice and start to take it much more seriously to address the areas that needed attention to grow. Not only is there a strategic framework but Miriam also addresses the VERY SPECIFIC things and gives amazing tactics to use to achieve the goals in her framework. For example, She even includes scripts to help talk you through the art of selling and dealing with objections. One thing I really appreciated was her 'in person' solutions AND 'virtual' solutions to selling art. This is great if you sell your art in person and online. Her writing style is no-nonsense and funny. She uses great examples, has great stories to share her experiences for everything she talks about. I highly recommend this book for its holistic approach to being an artist AND an entrepreneur.

A must read for artists in business
Miriam nails what is missing in so many books. She brings real life business experience and art together in tried and true methods and approaches, rounding it out with the important mindset and self-work that so many art and business people miss. Through story telling and real artist studies, this book blends business, art, and the hard work of being human together.

Helped me get my art business/career in the right direction
The Artpreneur book has been such a blessing for my art career. Miriam's knowledge has been so helpful in gaining the confidence and the know how's to navigate through building my art career. Felt right at home with this audible since I am familiar with Miriam's podcast The Inspiration Place and I become one of her students at the artist incubator program which dives even deeper into what she already goes in depth in the book. Thanks Miriam for your knowledge and wisdom in helping other artists make sense out of creating their career paths from their creativity!

Artists CAN earn a good living and keep doing what they love
Miriam brings together all her real life experience, knowledge and art into this audio book. This audio book was almost like you’re sitting down one on one and listening to her tell you her story and how you can do the same. I’ve listened to it a couple of times and always pick up something new. Try it.

The most annoying reader on Audible
I haven't finished the book and I'm not sure I will. It is read in the most annoying emotionally exaggerated manner one could imagine and is full of personal stories. At chapter 4 I am yet to learn anything else except biographical information about the author. This should be in the biography section but of course, none would read it then as none is particularly interested in the biography of a random financial specialist turned artist. I hope there is something worth my money but I doubt it. So far, pure waste of money and time. I gave it three stars only because perhaps there is something valuable to come or some readers might find a certain delight in peeking in other people's lives.
