Of all the famous civilizations to emerge from Mesopotamia, a list that includes the Akkadians, the Sumerians, and the Babylonians, it’s the Assyrians who deserve the fame and glory. The empire they constructed over the course of some 1,200 years survived constant attacks, a few defeats, and the famed Dark Age, known as the Bronze Age collapse, to become one of the largest and most expansive empires the world has ever seen.

Boring Narrator Voice puts you to sleep
The information is credible although I wish there was more detail. They say that the Assyrians had a formidable and feared military, but he does’t say why neighbouring countries didn’t catch up. More framing in prequel and post would enrich the story as well. More about the Acadians and more about their influence on the rise of Babylon after 609BC after the fall. Few or no references the the Bible felt like key information was omitted. The narrator did not speak in a way that got you excited to follow the story of the Assyrians. The most boring speaker for any audiobook so far.
