Publisher's Summary

"I said, marry me.”

Atlas

Lauren Locklear.

She has no idea that I would do anything for her. She doesn’t understand the mountains I would climb just to keep her safe.

That’s okay though, I’ll make sure she does.

She thinks she’s weak, and given the lack of love and support from those closest to her, I can understand why. That changes now, I will make her see the strong woman I see when I look at her.

I’ve pined for her in secret, wanting nothing more than to show her what she could have. But with my past still haunting me, I knew it would be best to stay back.

That is, until she needs access to health insurance and I see a solution to both her problem and my dilemma. All she has to do is say yes.

Ren

I’ve done something stupid.

Something reckless.

Something everyone will judge me for and I’m risking everything.

My family. My career. Myself.

I’m always too much to handle and the men I’ve allowed into my life have always reminded me of my shortcomings, even when it’s their fists doing the reminding.

No one has ever truly cared for me, loved me.

And then Atlas Hart asks me to marry him in order to save my life.

This isn’t love. It’s barely a friendship, or so I thought. But as the days go by and I see what he so selflessly risks for me, I cannot help but think that maybe… this could be more.

Best Book Husband Alert!

DJ does it again! Book 2 in the Hel’s Ink series and I feel so fulfilled and satisfied after listening to this. Atlas is such the devoted man full of love to give despite his family issues. Ren is the object of Atlas’s desire and he’ll stop at nothing to make sure she knows she’s adored by him and that he will be there for her. Medical and mental health representation just adds a sense of realness to the characters and oh just wait until you meet Howard!!!

The slow-burn is real but when we get to the heat it’s worth the wait.

Joe Arden plays Atlas seemingly with ease as the character just flows from him so smoothly. He does such a great job capturing emotions and humour and giving the listener all the feels. A wonderful performance, easily one of my favourites. Angelina Rocca plays Ren and her breathy softness matches the character so well. Angelina and Joe sound great together.

Thank you DJ for bringing Hel’s Ink to us and for the amazing casting. Can’t wait for the next story!

5 Sunflower Stars!!

Loved this story! The characters of Lauren and Atlas are so relatable that I devoured the audio. Angelina Rocca and Joe Arden's performances brought this story to life! The main character, Lauren, deals with body issues as well as type one diabetes while Atlas thinks he needs to always be the happy one while his family situation is less than perfect.
They help each other realize that they are worthy of love despite their insecurities and flaws. The mental health representation in this book is on point and needs to be mentioned. I felt so seen it brought tears to my eyes. Do yourself a solid and listen/read this book!
